The Story

Aviemore is a popular Scottish tourist town situated in the stunning Cairngorm National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. A destination town for skiing and winter sports, year-round outdoor activities and beautiful hillwalking, Aviemore was one of the first skiing resorts thanks to the opening of its chairlift in 1961, and its position as a Highland Railway junction since 1898.

Today you can enjoy the stunning surrounding mountain scenery by taking the Strathspey Railway from Aviemore to Broomhill, the longest heritage line in Scotland.

Aviemore caters for its many visitors with a good selection of local pubs and hotels, nightclubs, and even its own brewery, the Cairngorm Brewery.
