Taransay

Taransay is a beautiful island on the west coast of Harris, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

Although it was inhabited as early as 300AD, Taransay has had no full-time dwellers for over 30 years. Most recently, Taransay is famous for being the host island to the London BBCís ëCastawayí TV survival show in 2000, where 36 specially selected members of the UK public had to survive for one year in traditional lifestyle - and Taransay's wilderness was broadcast to 9 million viewers.
