Mull, like many of Scotland's isles, has been inhabited since 6000 BC. Evidence of ancient civilizations includes burial cairns, stone circles, pottery, and knife blades from the Bronze Age. The wildlife in and around Mull is extremely diverse. Among the wildlife are over 250 species of birds and a quarter of the world’s whale, dolphin and porpoise species, living around the Hebrides off the west coast of the mainland. Minke whales, porpoises and dolphins can be seen regularly from Mull’s coast, as well as on boat tours. MaeVona founder, Maeve Gillies, spent many happy childhood days on Mull with her family.
